Mark Anderson

Mark Anderson, age 60, of Machesney Park, Illinois passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023. Mark was born in Rockford, Illinois on November 7, 1962 to Ivan and Elise Anderson. In 1980 he graduated from Harlem High School. In April of 1983 Mark joined the United States Air Force and served his country as a security specialist for 9 years before being honorably discharged in 1992. Mark married the love of his life, Deborah Spink on July 10, 1982. He worked at Joseph Behr/ Alters for 30 years as a maintenance technician, he truly loved what he did. Mark enjoyed working on cars and singing and playing the drums in his band, Razor's Ridge.
Mark is survived by his wife, Deborah Anderson; children, Amanda (Christopher) Oglesby and Ryan (Jackie) Anderson; grandchildren, Tori, Kenzie, Jackson, and Duncan; siblings, Lynn (Dave) Bleckeberg, Chris (Don) Pete, and Mike (Rhonda) Anderson; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Elsie Anderson.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm with special military honors at 5pm at Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N. ALpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115).
