Word was received in Mena, Tuesday morning of the death of Mrs J L Alvey, 82 which occured Monday Afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs J F Greiner at Fort Worth, TX. Mrs Alvey for many years had made her home in Mena and was well known locally. Several months ago she went to Fort Worth to make her home. The body will be brought back to Mena for burial and is expected to arrive here Wednesday. Funeral service will be held at 8am Thursday at St Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev Msgr A P Gallagher, pastor officiating. Burial occured in the family plot at Mount Calvary cemetery beside the husband of the deceased who died in 1922. The Beasley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Mr & Mrs Frank Greiner of Fort Worth, TX, Mr and Mrs W H Alvey, Wichita Falls, TX, Victor Alvey, Sioux City, IA, Mrs E N Shutter, Fort Worth, TX are now in Mena. Mr and Mrs J H Alvey, C B Alvey, Miss Dorothy Shutter, Mrs Lavaughn Freeman, Fort Worth, TX and Bernard Alvey Phoenix, AZ arrived Wednesday evening to attend the funeral of Mrs J L Alvey which will be held Thursday morning.
