ABEL – EDWIN D., of Tomball, Texas, formerly of Cleveland, Tenn., died Saturday afternoon in a Cleveland hospital. He was a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and was retired from Nabisco Food Co. with 40 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Gates Abel, Tomball; daughter, Jo Ann Sparkman, Houston, Texas; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; two brothers, Col. Carl M. Abel, Atlanta, and Felix J. Abel, Hot Springs, S. D.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rector Robert Bolton officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at Fike Funeral Home, Cleveland. Memorial contributions may made [sic] to the American Heart Association.
