Clarence S. McCutchen, retired Dist. 2 highway superintendent, died Wedesday after a long illness. He resided southest of Tulsa.
McCutchen, 78 retired in 1963 after being employed by Tulsa county about 20 years. Previously, he had been with the city Street Department about 20 years.
Born at Wilburn, Ark., McCutchen came to Tulsa in 1923 from Muskogee. He was a member of the Phoenix Avenue Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War I.
McCutchen is survived by his widow, Mary Frances, of the home; four sons, L. E. McCutchen, Grand Junction, Colo., and C. R., Jack, and Billy McCutchen, all of Tulsa; four daughters, Mrs. Jean Lee, Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Ivvle Iliff, Miss Kay McCutchen and Mrs. Fay Tate, all of Tulsa; three brothers, five sisters; 30 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Friday in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
