She was a native of Breckinridge County and formerly lived in the Rineyville area and in Florida before moving to Elizabethtown. She was the oldest living member of Ridge Spring Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arba C. Carman; her parents, Thomas Joseph and Elizabeth Lee Hawkins Basham, 2 brothers, Hobert Basham and Lonnie Basham and 2 sisters Annie Greenwood Dowell and Alma Hawkins.
She is survived by three daughters, Jewel Fible and her husband W. L. of Elizabethtown, Yolanda Hobbs and her husband Joe of Flaherty and Darlene Hostetter of Dade City, FL, 8 grandchildren, Debbie Hobbs of Ohio, Kyle Dean Epperson, Kelly Joe Hobbs and Cathy Hourigan all of Lexington, Craig Nelson, Mike Nelson and Coleena Hanson all of FL and Kevin Hobbs of England, UK and 11 great grandchildren.
