Geraldine Malone, 73, of Abilene, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Leroy Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Geraldine was born on May 16, 1933 in Breckenridge, Texas to Floyd Lee Boyd, Sr. and Jennie Opal (Flippo) Boyd. She sold Real Estate for John Beall and Jimmy Partin Real Estate Companies in Abilene. She also worked at the American Red Cross and as a Title Clerk for Fred Hughes Buick before retiring eight years ago. Mrs. Malone was a member of Elmwood West United Methodist Church.

Geraldine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her joy in life was spending time with her family. She loved cooking for her family and playing with her great-grandchildren. She also loved sports and was a dedicated fan of her son, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren. She never missed a game.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Emmett Boyd. Geraldine is survived by her husband, Omer Dee Malone of Abilene; her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jane Malone of Abilene; one brother, Floyd Boyd of Coleman; four sisters, Ruby Corey, Mary Wise and her husband Buddy, Vondell Gillespie and her husband Clyde, and Betty Morris, all of Abilene; three granddaughters, Jennifer McDaniel and her husband Russell of Abilene, Jill Pearson and her husband Wes of Midland, and Jaime Malone of Ft. Worth; three great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Jaden McDaniel of Abilene, and Blakely Pearson of Midland, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in honor of Geraldine to the American Red Cross, Big Country Regional Chapter, 1610 North 2nd St., Abilene, TX 79601 or the donor's favorite charity.
