Thomas "Tom" Gade Davis, 86, of Gray, GA, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Elam Memorial Gardens with the Reverends Gary Thomas and Adam Bray officiating. The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jones County Animal Services, 1015 Monticello Hwy, Gray, GA 31032.

Son of the late William Hamby and Sarah Cheek Davis, Mr. Davis helped found the Gray Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member and deacon of Elam Baptist Church. He loved to travel, going on many trips with his grandchildren and nephews. He was a great vegetable gardener and loved sharing his knowledge with others. He loved to fish and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, and Atlanta Falcons.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shelby Bryant Davis of Gray; daughter, Cara Davis Bockholt (Dan) of Gray; grandsons, Ethan Bockholt and Drew Bockholt; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of good friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Davis, 8 siblings, Margaret, Nellene, Liz, Katherine, Jimmie Lou, V.C., Bill and Bud, and his faithful companion, Lucy.
