Fred A. Crapo, 85, a longtime Klamath County resident, died July 21, 1999, in Klamath Falls.

Mr. Crapo was born to Leon and Matilda Crapo in Sherwood. He and Amny Bowles were married in 1934, and they homesteaded on Spriing Lake. They lived there until retiring in 1978. Amy (Bowles) Crapo preceded him in death in 1981.

He was a member of the Midland Grange No. 781 and the Masonic Lodge. He served many years on the board of the Klamath Senior Center.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing. He also enjoyed telling stories during family gatherings. He traveled extensively and saw much of the world in his later years.

He attended church with his wife, Lois Adkins-Crapo, at First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors iclude his wife, Lois, of Klamath Falls; daughter and son-in-law Becky and Jim Hoffman of Salem; son Bob Crapo of Klamath Falls; grandchildren, Tim Aiken, Mike Crapo, Ray Crapo, Richard Crapo, Dan Crapo, Robert Crapo J., Tammy Boeshans and Rynelle Ballantyne; numerous great-grandchildren; and brothers, Tony Crapo and Harold Crapo, both of California.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Amy and Esther, two sons, and three brothers and a sister.
