William Wyatt Cathey, age 83, Wilburton, passed away Monday, August 4, 1986 at Latimer County Hospital. He had lived here most of his life, born on November 6, 1902, in Arkansas, and married March 4, 1922 in Wilburton to Lillian Orene Maxwell (deceased). He was a retired farmer and of Baptist faith.

Survivors are five sons, J. G., of Wasco, California, Edward, of Red Oak, Ovie of Gowen, Bobby, of Harshorne, and Johnny of McCloud, three daughters, Wilma Cathey, and Leortha Brown, both of Wilburton, and Billie Wright, of Del City, Okla., three brothers, Jeff and Junior, both of Wilburton and J. W. of Oakland, Calif., one sister, Lola Lockerby, of Wilburton, and a host of grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Services were held Wednesday, August 6, 1986 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Wayne Holcomb officiated. Internment followed at the Damon Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jimmy Dale Cathey, Jim Walden, Jr. Moye, Chub Cathey, Rex Cathey, and Dayton Evans.
