A funeral Mass for Robert E. McIntyre, 80, Goddard, was Friday at Myatt Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial was in Ashland.

Mr. McIntyre died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in Wichita.

He was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Edna, the son of John D. McIntyre and Freda M. Crane. He graduated from Ashland High School and Oklahoma State University.

Mr. McIntyre served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from July 28, 1946, to Nov. 3, 1947. He received a World War II Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

He retired from the Douglas County Soil Conservation Service in 1982 and Douglas County and Kansas watershed districts in 1993.

Mr. McIntyre was a member of the American Legion, Audubon Society, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Toastmasters International. He also was a Scoutmaster for many years.

He married Barbara I. Wyatt on Sept. 5, 1949, in Ashland. She preceded him in death. He married Delores Osborn on June 15, 1985, in Ashland. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Donald E., Lawrence; a daughter, Deborah J. Zimmerman, Belle Plaine; four stepsons, Steve and Dave Osborn, both of Ashland, Tom Osborn, Great Falls, Mont., and Jake Osborn, Cimarron; a stepdaughter, JoAnn Malenck, Arvada, Colo.; a brother, Corwin, Las Vegas; four grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen McIntyre, and a stepson, Ronnie Osborn.
