He was born in Collins, MS on July 20, 1952 to Obie Lee Agee, Sr. and Alma Ree Agee. He was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church in Gulfport. He was a graduate of New Hymn High School in Pinola, MS. After high school he joined the United States Army where he served for several years. After serving in the United States Army he married Mary Irby Agee and to this union two children were born. He was also a Master Sergeant in the Army Reserve where he served until his death;
Mr. Agee was employed with Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, Ingalls Location where he had been employed for 30 years. He served his community through his Masonic Life by serving twice as Worship Master, he was a Past Commander in Chief of Bennett Johnson Consistory, Rectitude Lodge #323, Herions of Jericho, Thirty-Third Degree Mason and Past Potentate of Karun Temple #48.
He was preceded in death by his father; Obie Lee Agee, Sr. and his mother; Alma Ree Agee Smith, one granddaughter; Alexia Agee and one grandson; Leonard Earl Bourne, Jr.
Mr. Agee's survivors include: his stepmother; Marie Agee of Gulfport, one son; Calvin E. Agee, Jr. of Ocean Springs, MS, three daughters; Catrina Magee of Prentiss, MS, T. Deon Barnett and Tahira Agee-Bourne both of Gulfport, four brothers; Obie Lee Agee, Jr., Edward Lee Agee both of Saginaw, MI, Leroy Agee of Gulfport and Gary Agee of D'Lo, MS, one sister; JoAnn Agee of Gulfport, one stepbrother; Theotis Smith, Jr. of Chicago, two stepsisters; Sherry Smith and Carolyn Haynes both of Saginaw, MI, eight grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
There will be a visitation 6-8 PM, Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at Lockett-Williams Mortuary, Inc., 2018 31st Avenue, Gulfport, MS.
Funeral Services: 11AM, Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Forrest Heights Baptist Church, 5215 Ohio Avenue, Gulfport, MS.
Interment will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Collins, MS.
