John I. Staley, commonly known as "Jack" Staley, died at his home in Dayton, Saturday, his death having ended a long period of ill health. He was born near Dayton in 1848. For many years he followed threshing and was one of the best known threshermen in this part of the state. His wife, who survives is a daughter of Dave Rothenberger, of Mulberry. Mr. Staley is survived by two sons, by a former marriage, Irwin G. of Denver, Col., and Wallace O. of Columbia City, Ind. Albert Staley of Chicago is a brother and is the surviving member of a once large family.
The funeral service was conducted at the Dayton Methodist church, on Tuesday morning.
