Martha "Mattie" Beckham was born Sept.10, 1876 in Carrollton, Ky. She was the oldest of 5 children. She married Joseph Prentice Marlett on 22 May 1900 in Jefferson Co., Ind.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Matilda Jones Beckham. She is survived by her sisters Anna Media Howard and Caddie Bowling and her brothers William Pinkney and Morris P. Beckham.
She is also survived by 3 sons, Stanley Beckham, Planet Marlett and Richard Marlett.
Even though the name Marlett appears on the stone with the final E, the E was not added to the Marlett name until later years.
