John C. Donaldson, a resident of the Arpelar community since 1909, passed away Sunday at his home. He was born December. 27, 1859 at Coleman, Alabama. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Jane Donaldson; six daughters and six sons. These are Mrs. Jim Gifford, Haywood, Mrs. A. E. Barnhill, Horton, Tex., Mrs. H. C. Marshall, Cromwell, Okla., Mrs. R. E. Cochran, Atoka, Mrs. Perry Williams, McAlester, Mrs. Walter Staples, Oklahoma City, T. W. Donaldson, Sayre, Okla., Corbet W. Donaldson, McAlester, Luther Donaldson of the home, Andrew Donaldson, El Reno, Arnold Donaldson, who is with the Army at Sioux City, Ia., and Elzie Donaldson, McAlester. Two sisters and three brothers also mourn his passing. These are Miss Beatrice Donaldson, Coleman, Ala., Mrs. Frances McConnell, Akron, Ohio, J. C. Donaldson, Eastman, Tex., Ben Donaldson and Luther Donaldson, both of Coleman, Ala. There are also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services wil be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Arpelar Church, with Rev. John A. Ellis officiating. Humphrey's will be in charge and burial is to be in the Arpelar cemetery. Pallbearers will be A. T. Staple, J. D. Selman, M. M. Leath, Alvis Johnson, H. H. Bell and W. H. Firestone.
