• Services for A.B. Brown, 60, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Elijah Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Cheek-Love Cemetery, Lone Grove.
Born April 24, 1941, in Cheek to Allen and Hazel Douglas Brown, he died Sept. 27, 2001, in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Foreman.
He married Glenda Fair on April 9, 1999, in Sanger, Texas.
Brown left Ardmore at age 17 when he joined the U.S. Army. He moved back to Lone Grove in 1997. He had been an electrician for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his father; two daughters, Kimberly Brown, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Beverly Young, Dallas; three stepdaughters, Monique President, Oklahoma City, and Monika Murray and Myrashandria Knight, both Ardmore; stepsons, Anthony Knight and Christopher Knight, both of Ardmore; three brothers, Samuel Brown, Dallas, Steve Smith, Lone Grove, and Anthony Brown, Marietta; two sisters, Glenda Gibson, Lone Grove, and Rucene Young; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Bearers are Reuben Anderson, Thomas Davenport, Glennon Pickens, Jack Brown, James Foreman and Bennie Roberts. Honorary bearers are Loss Anderson, James Campbell, Herman Ford, James Gibson, Kevin Ramsey, L.D. Shannon and Clarence Myles. Flower girls are Ruth Brown, Sammie Lornes, Melanie Taylor, Ella Toles, Ashley Wrenn and Virginia Wrenn.
Services are under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
