He was a son of the late Edward and Emelie (Allard) Cormier. He was the eighth of thirteen children. He received his education in Lowell schools. He attended Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Grammar School and St. Joseph High School, both in Lowell.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 50 years by Lowell Shoe Company in Lowell and then in Hudson, NH.
In his free time he enjoyed gardening. He was a communicant of Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish at Ste. Therese Church in Dracut.
