Dewey Junior Artrip, 71, of Russell, went to be with his Lord Friday morning, Nov. 26, 2004, at his home. Mr. Artrip was born Sept. 27, 1933, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Dewey and Verna Waugh Artrip. He was a retired foreman with Food Marketing, Inc., a member of the Ironworkers and was of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by one son, Dewey Randolph Artrip; and one daughter, Rebecca Hickman. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Day Artrip; three daughters, Sherry (Jim) Piercy of Ashland, Missy (Bob Hodges) Fuller of Summit and Carolyn June Artrip of Russell; six brothers, Kenneth Artrip and Charles Artrip, both of Summit, Raymond Artrip of Tennessee, Jimmy Artrip and Ronald Artrip, both of Ashland and Mitchell Artrip of Greenup; four sisters, Beatrice Duvall and Alice Jones, both of Ohio, and Phyllis Blevins and Carolyn K. Forbes, both of Westwood; four grandchildren, Jayshree Patel, Crystal Barry, D.J. Hickman and April Hobbs; and one great-grandchild, Kastin Hoffman. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in Golden Oaks Cemetery in Ashland. There will be no visitation. Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood is in charge of arrangements.
