PLATTVILLE – Orman Franklin Alford died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lew Gable, Thursday afternoon, Sept. 22, after an illness of about three weeks.
Deceased was born in Peru, N. Y., June 8, 1821, and came to Illinois in 1844 and was married to Miss Lydia Bowles in 1852.
To this union was born one son, Myron of Plattville, and one daughter, Mrs. Lew Gable, living near Plattville.
Mr. Alford had been in poor health for some years and his death was due to old age and a general breaking down. He was 89 years old.
The funeral was held from the home of his daughter Sunday afternoon, Rev. Mr. Harris of Na-au-say officiating. He was laid to rest in the Plattville cemetery. Mr. Alford was a member of the Plattville M. E. church, having joined the church in 1864. The funeral was largely attended.
