Arvis 'Cotton' Alexander, 61, a resident of Rt. 1, box 142-K, Johnson Road, Long Beach, died Wednesday morning at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. A native of Long Beach, he was a retired stock clerk with the A & P company. He was formerly employed with Sears-Roebuck. His memberships included the Church of Christ Restored in Hammond, La., Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5931, Pass Christian, American Legion, Joe Graham Post 119, Gulfport, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 5, Gulfport. He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Anna LaBauve Alexander of Long Beach; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Alexander of Vicksburg and Everett O. Alexander of Long Beach; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Alexander of Long Beach; one brother Edsel 'Buddy' Alexander of Miamisburg, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Milton (Dena) Necaise of Long Beach and four grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel in Long Beach. The funeral will be held there at 22 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery, Long Beach.
