Mrs. Field enjoyed embroidery, sewing and crocheting. She had made more than 30 hooked rugs since 1945, using the old-fashioned method of hand-hooking wool strips through burlap. In 1985 she published a story of her grandparents' life, titled "Our Heritage, Willis and Susie Rice."
