Nancy was the first of two daughters born to Daniel Burris and Cintha Ann Harding Burris. She married Peter Walker Ryan on August 28, 1872 in Iowa. They had four children: Emory, Irene, Lulu and Vera. Nancy died in 1924 and according to her death certificate, she was to be buried in Hillsboro, Oregon. The cemetery was not listed. Peter died in 1936 and was buried in the Pioneer Cemetery in Hillsboro, Oregon. He has a headstone.
