Jan Alday, 79, of Leroy, Passed away on March 19, 2023, at the Jackson Healthcare Facility.
She was born on October 8, 1943, in Mississippi to parents Woodrow and Marguerite Watkins Barnett. Jan was a Beautician and she had many clients whom she cared for and became wonderful friends with. She was a faithful member of her church, Pine Grove UMC, in which she was involved with many of their committees. Jan enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents and daughter Ann Coate.
Survived by her husband of 58 years John Alday, son Alan Alday, daughter Mitzi and her husband Shannon Averitt, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other extended family members and loving friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark McLendon, Gene Taylor, Blake McLendon, Clint Howard, Clark Alday, Shannon Averitt, and Joseph Alday. Honorary pallbearers will be Jan's Sunday School Class.
Funeral Services will be at 2:30 on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to services. Rev. Chip Oakley officiating and Lathan Funeral Home conducting.
