A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Baggett officiating, interment to follow at Peach Grove Cemetery. The Hooper family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, and again from 10:00 am until the time of service on Wednesday.
Leonard entered this life on April 5, 1945 in McEwen, TN, to the late Leonard Frank Hooper and Maggie Chambers Hooper.
Leonard was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and especially fishing. He worked for TVA Cumberland City Fossil Plant for 30 years before retirement. In retirement he enjoyed attending various sporting events with his sons and grandchildren and even got the opportunity to coach a few teams; family was very important. He also served his community in the Houston County Recreation Club, where he volunteered many hours and even served a term as president.
Along with his dear parents, Leonard is preceded in death by his brother Bill Hooper and his son Tim Hooper.
Survivors include his loving son Terry (Robbie) Hooper; step-son, Shawn Stump; sister, Pat(Bobby) Myrick, and his beloved grandchildren; Corey (Valerie) Hooper, Kayla (Levi) Compton, Kaitlyn (Keston) Kilpatrick, Alisha (Chad) Harvey, Dakota (Tristan) Hooper, Logan (Madison) Hooper, Aspen Hooper, Keli Madden and Tyler Madden. He also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Lucy.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Corey Hooper, Levi Compton, Dakota Hooper, Logan Hooper, Keston Kilpatrick, and Chad Harvey.
