https://www.wellssheffield.com/obituaries/randi-brownRandi Charlene Brown, age 39, of Shipman, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Sunday, January 15, 2023, surrounded by her family and closest friends. Her love for her family and God sustained her through her six year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born on February 10, 1983, she was the oldest daughter of Bill and Sherry Brown.

Randi is preceded in death by both her paternal grandparents, Randolph and Mildred (Micky) Brown, her Aunt Catherine Carter and her childhood best friend Jessica Scott.

In addition to her parents, Randi is survived by her daughter, Aeden Parker Bryant; three brothers, Charles (Rachael), William (Hannah), Spencer (Chelsey); sister, Ann-Pettice; maternal grandparents, Charles and Peggy Staton; great-aunt Patsy; aunts, Tammy, Scarlett (Dan), Amy (Julian); cousins Rachel, Megan (Justin), Manford, Connell, Sterling; three nephews, Thacker, Stanley, Oliver; and two nieces, Daisy, Stella.

Randi's love was big. Her love for Aeden and motherhood was big. Her love for her siblings, nieces, nephews, grandparents was big. Her love for her friends was big. Her love for her community was big. And not only was her love big, it was fierce and loyal. Randi was nothing short of a protector. Without any hesitation she would jump into action to shield those she loved from pain or sadness. Her smile and contagious laughter could change a room.

Randi created an impact that extended beyond her family and loved ones. As an active member of Rockfish Valley Baptist Church, Randi brought her love for worship to the congregation. She was a founding charter member of The HeART of Nelson Artisan Collective, creating a place for small business owners to showcase their talents and treasures. Her handmade jewelry brought joy to so many people. Randi was passionate about advocating for monthly self-screenings for breast cancer, with the intention to potentially spare someone else from the difficulties of a battle with cancer. Randi's love of the beach frequently took her and Aeden on adventures where they interacted with strangers that quickly became friends; connecting them to people all over the east coast. We are so lucky to have gotten to share Randi with the world.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Wells Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston with Pastor Dan Magan officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Camp Kesem at the University of Virginia. Camp Kesem supports children of parents fighting cancer; please visit the following website to donate, https://donate.kesem.org/team/446400."
