Private 3952 Manchester Regiment. Enlisted on 26 Aug 1914, discharged on 25 Jan 1917 following service in France and Belgium during the First World War. Son of Florence Whitehead, of 38 Library Lane, Oldham. Died from tuberculosis at Westhulme Hospital, age 23.

Accepeted as a casualty of war by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission on 9 Nov 2021, following research by members of the Manchester Regiment Forum and In From the Cold Project.
