Darla Gail Turner Phillips died Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the age of 49 in Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born July 15, 1954 in Ada to George Newton Turner and Eveline Jean Minick Ware.

She married Larry W. Phillips on March 5, 1974 in Seminole.

She was a homemaker and also ran the "Heavenly Snow" snowcone stand in front of Nichols.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Immanuel Fellowship Church and was a very generous and loving person who prided her relationship with Christ and caring for those in need.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jessie Jewell Sing, father, George Newton Turner, stepfather, George Ware, stepmother, Mary Turner, brother-in-law, Donnie Walker and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wayne and Ethel Phillips.

Phillips is survived by her husband, Larry W. Phillips of the home, mother, Eveline Jean Minick Ware of Seminole, son, Larry W. "Sonny" Phillips Jr. of Seminole and fiancée, Tori Hutton and her children, Ashley, Jakey, Yosha and MaKayla, son, John Lee Calvin "John Boy" Phillips of Seminole, daughters, Jessica Marie Turner of Byng and Krystal Lynnette Lee Phillips of the home, children she took under her wing, Chris and Sheila Haney of Earlsboro, ex-daughter-in-law, Kathlene "Katie" Carbitcher Phillips of Seminole, special son, Russell Gibson of Seminole, brothers, George Newton Turner Jr., Kenneth Dale Turner and Doug Turner, all of Ada, sisters, Diane Walker of Kansas City, Missouri and Charolette Trembley of Scott City, Kansas. sister-in-law, Donna Postman and husband, Rick, ex-brother-in-law, Chris Anson, grandchildren, Donovan Phillips, Kelsey Phillips and Jasmine Phillips, all from Seminole, Marty Price and Latisha Price from Byng and Isreal Haney, Ashley Barnett, Amber and Amanda Haney, all from Earlsboro, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23 at the Immanuel Fellowship Church {formerly Tri-City Christian Center}. Rev. Danny Fisher will officiate.

Interment will follow at Little Cemetery, north of Seminole under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Casket bearers will be Ronnie Phillips, Chris Haney, Chris Anson Sr., Chris Anson Jr., Rick Postman and Jayson Turner. Honorary bearers will be Mickey Shaw, Andy Lockhart and Jim Hutton.
