Born in Sanford, ME to Real L'Heureux, Denise attended schools in Maine and medical school in Vermont. She did her internship and residency in a variety of cities, ending in San Francisco in the early 1980s. She completed her U.S. Public Health Service in Chinle, AZ in 1987 and moved to Albuquerque, NM soon thereafter. She had a private clinical practice in Sante Fe, NM and later in Merritt Island, FL as well as Fairfax, CA. She is missed greatly by all who knew her. She was a fierce and peaceful warrior who walked this earth with purpose.
