Hermon Draper Sr., 77

A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Old Presbyterian Church, Bennington, for Hermon Draper Sr., 77, Oklahoma City, who died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Integris Southwest Medical Center, Oklahoma City. Rev. Charles Williams will officiate.

He was born in the Old Church community in Bennington Saturday, April 21, 1928 to George and Bertha (Cook) Draper and raised there.

He married Mary Hackney April 19, 1968, in Amarillo.

He drove a truck for W.H. Frank for eight years and later moved to Amarillo, Texas, where he worked as a foreman for Production Grain Corporation, retiring in 1976. He and Mary have lived the past 29 years in Oklahoma City.

He was a great husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed. Hermon loved welding and making windmills, and he also enjoyed fishing and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and uncle/best friend Clyde Cook, and brother-in-law Leroy Nickels.

He is survived by his wife of the home; sons Arnold Draper Jr. and wife Sharon, Madill, Ed Creech Jr., Konawa, and Randy Draper and wife Melodie, Caddo; daughter Berniece Tucker and husband David, Durant; brothers Raymond Draper and wife Iva Joyce, Boyd, Texas, Lelon Draper and wife Janette, Cleveland, and James Draper and wife Lisa, Grapevine, Texas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.

Burial will be in Old Church Cemetery, Bennington, with Russell Cook, Randal Cook, Sandy Kelso, Ronnie Kelso, Bub Kelso, Truman Kelso, Mark Draper, Brian Draper and Mike Draper serving as pallbearers.

Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home
