Grandaddy Cooley worked at several different vocations. At one time he was a deputy sheriff for Marion county and had a reputation for always "bringing back his man". He worked for U.S. Stove company and for the knitting mills also.
For many years he was the treasurer for Kimball Baptist Church.
He lived in South Pittsburg, Jasper, and lastly Kimball. He was born in Jackson County, Alabama and died in South Pittsburg at the hospital.
Grandaddy would drive Granny to shop in Chattanooga. He would sit on the benches and wait for Granny to "take inventory". He had a dry wit and you had to listen closely to hear his little asides. I loved him so much.
