Moira Martha Tingle, 88, passed away on October 29, 2018. Born to Helen and Dan Tingle on November 14, 1929, Moira was a self proclaimed "army brat," with postings in California, the Philippines, New York, Virginia, and Georgia. For more than 30 years, Moira taught classical studies in Chattanooga, Tennessee, inspiring students to appreciate Latin at Notre Dame High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She retired to Virginia in 1999 to be near her sisters and beloved nieces and nephews. She attended Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church and was an active member of the Haiti Ministry and a long time volunteer at the Parish Thrift Store. Moira was preceded in death by her sisters, Constance and Helen Tingle Adams. Moira is survived by her sister, a bevy of nieces and nephews, and a troupe of great nieces and nephews. A Mass celebrating Moira's life will be held on Friday, November 2 at 11:00 am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 3800 Big Bethel Road, Yorktown. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Haiti Ministry at St. Ketari Tekakwitha Catholic Church. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
