Mr. Amzi Biggers, a well known citizen of Sandy Ridge township, died last Friday, at the age of 65 years. He was an elder in the Siler Presbyterian church, and the funeral took place at Siler on Saturday. Rev. J. B. Mack conducted the service. Mr. Biggers was a well-to-do farmer. He leaves several children. He was twice married, the last time to Miss Alexander, a sister of Dr. H. Q. Alexander of Mecklenburg, and she died several years ago. He was a Confederate soldier.
