Obituary
Henry A. Martin, Jr, 89 years old, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 in Memorial Hospital. Henry was born on May 2, 1933 in South Bend to the late Henry and Barbara (Weinkauf) Martin. On October 30, 1954 Henry married his loving wife, Marjorie (Rogers) Martin, who preceded him in death. Henry was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda McCullough; his sister, Dorothy Zmyslo; and brothers, Arthur & Robert Martin.

Left to cherish the memory of Henry, are his sons, Hank (Sue) Martin and Joseph (Diane) Martin; grandchildren, Michael (Casey), Craig (Ashley), Justin, Ryan (Karlee) Martin, Kimberly (Derek) Feiss, Joseph (Beth), David (Stephanie), Barbara Martin, Elizabeth and Rebecca Brown; 21 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jim Martin.

Henry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a press operator for Honeywell for 42 years before retiring in 1993. Hank was heavily involved in his community. He was the President of the Belgian Democratic Club of St. Joseph County, the Assistant Fire Chief at Portage Township, and the Fire Chief and Assistant Chief at Warren Township. He was also a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and the Volkskring Flemish-American Club. Henry was a faithful reader of the South Bend Tribune, always starting his day with a copy of the newspaper. He also enjoyed Nascar and going to the South Bend Motor Speedway, and was a big Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Notre Dame fan.

The family would like to thank Barbara Lewis and her family for their support and companionship in Henrys last years.

Friends and family will be received from 9:00am - 10:45am Monday, December 26, 2022 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am Monday, December 26, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Parish, South Bend. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.

Donations in honor of Henry A. Martin may be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
