Daniel K. Kavanaugh, age 86, of Corydon, KY, passed away at 6:38 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice. Born on August 13, 1936 in Henderson County, Kentucky. Daniel was one of thirteen children born to Eldon and Mary Virginia Kavanaugh.
He was a twin to his brother Ran. In the late 50's Daniel traveled to New York where he met his future bride, Mary. Together they came back to Kentucky and settled in Corydon in the early 70's. Daniel worked at Cyanede Plastics for more than 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening flowers, his animals, and tinkering with anything in sight. Daniel was known for affectionately (most of the time) teasing and aggravating his family.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Mary Kavanaugh, and his siblings: Mary Ruth, Sonny, Cynthia, Ran, Payne, Jimmy, Quincey, and Bobby.
He is survived by his step-daughter JoAnn Wolf of New York; step-son Tom Caverly and wife Sandy of Red Bud, MO; sister Gloria Kellough and husband Ronald of Corydon, KY; brothers: Elden Kavanaugh of Corydon, KY, Tommy Kavanaugh of MI, and Darrell Kavanaugh and wife Robin of Henderson, KY; sisters-in-law: Barbara Kavanaugh of Corydon, KY and Jennifer Kavanaugh of Henderson, KY; many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Daniel's Life Celebration from 12:00 p.m. until the service time on Friday, March 17, 2023. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home with Reverend Donald House officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
