Singer, Songwriter. Born Robert Hunter Caldwell, he was raised in Miami, Florida by a family of entertainers. His parents were singers and hosts of the early TV variety "Suppertime." Influenced by the music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole and The Beatles, he began writing songs during his late teenage years. Caldwell's break in the industry came when he moved to Los Angeles, California and landed a job as rhythm guitarist for Little Richard. After moving on to a solo career, he signed with the Clouds Records label (a subsidiary of TK Records), released his self-titled debut album in 1978 and found instant commercial success with the single "What You Won't Do For Love" which achieved a Top 10 placing on the American Billboard Charts in 1979. He went on to become a prolific songwriter and penned the number one hit "The Next Time I Fall In Love" recorded by Peter Cetera and Amy Grant in 1986.
