At 1:15 Monday morning, April 26, 1909, Eli Bollinger a prominent citizen,died suddenly at his home, in Union Township, Adams County, three miles from Sell's Station, from heart failure, aged about 68 years. Sunday Mr. Bollinger seemed in his usual good health, and attended services at Christ Church. He was one of the best known farmers of Adams County, and a brother of the late Jesse
Bollinger, of this place. Deceased is survived by his wife, whose maden name was Miss Jane Young; one son, John C. Bollinger. Esq., living in Union Township, near Sell's Station; 2 daughters, Mrs. Elder Geiselman, of High Street, Hanover, and Mrs. Emma Pannebaker, residing near Manchester, Carroll County, Md, and one sister, Mrs.
Jacob Appler (should be Urbanus M. Appler), of near Two Taverns. Funeral Wednesday, April 28, at 1 o'clock p.m. Services at the house, Rev. Mr.Butz, of Redeemer's Reformed Church, Littlestown, officiating. interment in
Christ Church cemetery, near Littlestown.
They had four children: Annie M., Emma J., John C. and Samuel. Martin purchased a grist mill from David Sell in the early 1860s. The mill was located just off the Barts Church Road in Union Township, Adams County, PA. He operated the mill until his death.
