John Dudley "Dud" Horn was the son of William Dudley and Esther (BAILEY) HORN. He was the only surviving son, and he had three sisters: Mamie Leota Horn Fox, Zelda Zorado Horn Hobbs, and Lena Bertha Horn Harrell. His one brother, Reason Esther Horn, died about a month after birth, as his mother Esther died shortly after his birth.

Uncle Dud never married. He served in France during World War I. He died when his house caught fire during the night and he was not able to get out. He was loved.
