Hall of Fame Professional Basketball Player, Coach. Born Harry Edward Jeannette in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. He played at the guard position for ten seasons (1938 to 1941, 1942 to 1946, 1947 to 1950) in the National Basketball League, Basketball Association of America and National Basketball Association, with the Cleveland, Detroit, Sheboygan Redskins, Fort Wayne Pistons and Baltimore Bullets. After playing collegiate basketball at Washington & Jefferson College, Jeannette appeared in 300 career NBL, BAA and NBA games scoring 2,317 points with 287 assists. He coached for six seasons (1947 to 1951, 1964 to 1965, 1966 to 1967) in the BAA and NBA with the Bullets (1947 to 1950 as player-coach) and guided them to the 1947-1948 BAA Championship Title. His coaching record is 136 wins and 173 losses. He also coached at Georgetown University. Jeannette was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 1994. He died of complications from a stroke.
