Funeral services will be Thurs., March 6, for Glenn Duane Bandy, 71, Dallas, Texas, who died on Feb. 26, 2008, in Dallas. The services will be held in United Methodist church at Arlington, and burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.

Visitation at the Johnson-Henry Funeral Home in Arlington.

Bandy was born on June 18, 1936, at Aberdeen to Gerald and Mary Bandy. He grew up in several South Dakota towns. He attended high school in Wessington and graduated from Arlington High School in 1954. He joined the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1957. He received a bachelor of arts degree from California State-Fullerton. He worked in law enforcement, the pharmaceutical industry and residential real estate. He was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Farmers Branch, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye (Thompson) Bandy of Dallas; three sons, Scott (Kathy) of Dallas, Steven and Kenneth (Kathy), both of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; a sister, Norma Jean Barnes of Park Falls, Wis.; five sisters-in-law, Opal Bandy of Brookings, Muriel Bandy of Glendale, Calif., Geraldine Bandy of Oceana, Calif., Verlyn Madsen of Arlington, and Sharon Smith of Curtis, Neb.; a brother-in-law, John (Dorothy) Thompson of Brookings; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Claude, Morris, Kenneth and Clifford; four sisters-in-law, Vivian Trumbo, Irene Ondov, Carmen Abel and Ruby Bandy; and four brothers-in-law, Chet Trumbo, Vernon Abel, Clare Madsen and John Barnes.
