Lena A. Correia BRIDGEWATER Lena A. (Bois) Correia, a lifelong Bridgewater resident, died peacefully, Jan. 3. She was age 89. Born in Bridgewater, Lena was a graduate of Bridgewater High School. She worked for 27 years at Bridgewater State College as a cook. Lena was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and a member of the Catholic Women's Club. She was also a member of the Handi-Kids in Bridgewater, the Samoquin Club and a Friend of the Senior Center. Lena had a passion for cooking and eating, hosting parties, enjoying her time with her friends and family (especially her grandchildren), and reading. Lena was also an avid traveler and her favorite places were Vermont and Cape Cod. Lena was the beloved wife of the late Francis A. Correia; loving mother of the late Dolores A. Chouinard and Carol F. Veronesi of Douglas; proud and caring grandmother of Francis G. Veronesi of Fitchburg, Jennifer L. Veronesi of Douglas, Jeffrey Veronesi of Douglas, Michelle C. Mattos of Raynham and Nicole M. Chouinard of Raynham; and nine great-grandchildren; sister of Jean Andrade, James Mike Bois and Philip Bois, all of Bridgewater, Lester R. Bois of San Diego and the late Theodore, Wilfred, Henry John, Robert, Donald and Lorraine Preti. Also survived by her loving nephew, Manuel Correia of Florida; and many other nieces; nephews; and friends. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 8 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater, at 9 a.m. Interment St. Thomas Cemetery.
