Colin made his mark on Staten Island with his exemplary hockey skills. While he was a student at Our Lady Star of the Sea School, he played travel hockey for New York and New Jersey teams. He was known for being a passionate hockey player for Monsignor Farrell High School from 2014-2018. At St. John's University, he joined the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and was given the nickname ''Prometheus''.
