Thomas Stribling (c1797-1850) was born near Berryville, Frederick (later Clarke) County, Va. He married in Frederick County in 1823, Rachel Ann Littler (1806-68) who died in Springfield, Ill. Four children were Maria Louisa (1826-48); Portia Hopkins (1829-1909) who married Andrew Jackson Barry (1835-66); Sigismund Taylor; and Margaret Ann Stribling (1832-84) who married Henry Embra Coleman Baskervill (1817-1900).
