Together they had three children, Sarah, Archibald (named for his paternal grandfather) and Penina (named for her maternal Grandmother). Only one survived much after the Civil War. This is Sarah. She with her husband, child, mother and niece moved from Alcorn County, Mississippi to Erie, Weld County, Colorado.
John was said to have died while the family lived on the property of where the Shiloh war broke out. This has not been substantiated through land and/or property records but is the word of whomever wrote Martha Murphy (John's wife's obituary).
John is the son of Archibald and Mary Mundy. He is the grandson of Revolutionary War soldier Edward Murphy who came with his brothers from Ireland. We do not know exactly where he is buried.
Derry Bennett Creutz (3rd great grand daughter)
