Services for John Couts Askew Sr., 78, will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at the grave in the family plot at the old brick house by the Rev. William Jenkins.
Mr. Askew died Friday in Memorial Hospital. He was a retired farmer and a resident of Route 1, Trenton, Ky.
He was the son of the late Mr.. and Mrs. Laurin B. Askew Sr. of Clarksville.
He was married to Barbara Ann Barker on Nov. 14, 1911, who survives.
Other survivors include four sons, John C. Askew Jr. and Peter M. Askew, both of Trenton, Ky.; Laurin B. Askew, Wilmington, N.C., and Lt. Col. Will Logan Askew, Rapid City, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Kit Hill Haynes, Chevy Chase, Md., and Mrs. Kenneth Tidwell, Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
