Ruth Dodd, age 79 of Boone, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at her home.

Born Ruth Rebecca Pantier on November 19, 1943, the daughter of Orville R. and Delphia (Harbour) Pantier in Boone, IA. Ruth was raised by her grandparents, Robert and Ruth Carpenter. She graduated from Ogden High School.

Ruth was united in marriage with Douglas Bruce Dodd on December 27, 1971 in Boone and later they were sealed at the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple on August 31, 1976. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Aaron and Nettie. Ruth was a stay-at-home mother- raising the children, tending to the livestock and being the at-home mechanic for the family.

Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boone. She was a devout believer and active member of the community. Ruth had a servant's heart; you would find her being an in-home care giver or giving her time to anyone in need.

Ruth loved her children (sometimes too much) and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished where she came from and learning the genealogy and history of her ancestors. Ruth was famous for her cinnamon rolls, loved to tinker, and enjoyed photography. No matter what she was doing, she was always busy!

Ruth was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; husband, Douglas in 2005; and several siblings. She is survived by her son, Aaron (Ashely Sires) Dodd of Granger and their children, Annabelle, Wesley and Sydney; daughter, Nettie (Tom) Monk of Sgt Bluff and their children, Brenda Graves, Brandi Pederson, Justin Monk and Amber Van Meter; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Kathy) Pantier of Minnesota; sister, Mary Lee Pantier of Missouri; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Boone. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Bluff Creek Cemetery, rural Boone.
