Reevesville Amanda Booth Metts, 46, of Reevesville, S.C., passed away at home on Feb. 16, 2021. Amy's unexpected passing leaves holes in the hearts of the many people who knew and loved her. Amy was born in Conway, S.C., and grew up attending Conway schools. She studied at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. She worked as an exercise physiologist at Palmetto Health Richland Cardiac Rehabfor nearly 20 years, and she was a frequent fundraiser for the American Heart Association. She was an exercise physiologist at HealthPlex at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg since 2016 and had a profound impact on the lives of her coworkers and patients in that short amount of time. Amy also served as president of the Lockett Elementary PTSO and tirelessly endeavored to improve the school, including fundraising for construction of the new playground. Amy was active in her sorority, Delta Gamma, and the Baptist Young Women group at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, and she loved all things Gamecock, especially attending football games with her family and friends. Amy leaves behind her husband, Kevin; her son, Riley; her parents, Robert and Irene Booth of Conway, S.C.; and her sisters Robyn Culbertson (Norman) of Columbia, S.C. and Angela Booth of Atlanta, Ga., all of whom are heartbroken by the loss.
