Mrs. Farmer died Wednesday, June 16, 1993, at her home in Lawrence. She was born April 27, 1902, at Linn Creek, Mo., the daughter of Benjamin Thomas and Nancy Katherine Webb Ray.
She moved from Linn Creek to Brown County in 1910 and to Lawrence in 1923.
She attended school in Purcell. She worked as a cook for Stricks Restaurant in Lawrence for 17 years and was known as "Grandma." She retired in 1990.
Her hobbies were making dolls for her granddaughters and crocheting blankets for her great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church in Lawrence.
She was married to Orville William Farmer on April 14, 1927, in Oskaloosa. He died May 16, 1963. A son, Orville William Jr., died Nov. 17, 1935.
Survivors include a son, Leroy, Lawrence; a daughter, Mary Pears, Lawrence, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
