Madison Moles married Ginsey Stover on 25 JAN 1854 in Fayette County, WV. They had three children: Mary, Hannah and Benjamin Moles. After Madison was killed in the war, Ginsey moved her family to Kentucky. She died in 1928.

Madison is the son of Isaac Moles, b. 1802 in Buckingham, Va., and Mary "Polly" Wriston, b. about 1808 in Monroe County, Va.

Four brothers from Raleigh County, (Madison, Robert, James and Henry) all joined the West Virginia Volunteer Cavalry, Company H. Madison and Robert did not return home after the war. James was severely wounded.
