Colleen Christina Maynard, 85, passed away in the loving care of her family on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Colleen was born April 1, 1937 in Urbana, the daughter of Catherine Smith. She attended Urbana High School and graduated in 1955. Following graduation Colleen attended the University of Iowa, focusing on Physical Education. She was united in marriage to Owen Maynard on November 18, 1961, at St. Mary's Spencer Grove.

Colleen and husband Owen farmed together. Colleen along with her Uncle Bob owned the Anabru Inn in Urbana, she also was a mail carrier in Vinton for many years. Colleen loved the simple pleasures in life; her faith & her family and friends came first and foremost. She also enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, playing cards, singing & playing music, gambling, politics, spending time with family at their cabin in Hackensack, Minnesota, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

She is survived by her children, Matt (Becky) Maynard, Mike (Ericka) Maynard, Bob (Chris) Maynard, and Kelly (Steve) Galvan; grandchildren, Dustin (Candi), Casey, Mitch (Beth), Chance, Jameson, Jonathan, Clay, Quentin (Minami), Ava, and Liv; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Cash, Quincy, Tyson, Myla, and Mei.

Colleen is preceded in death by her mother Catherine, and her husband Owen in 2019.
