Wilma M. Pickett, 103, formerly a long-time resident of Ankeny, died February 25, 2023, of natural causes in Wichita, Kansas.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church (510 E. 1st Street) in Ankeny of which she was a member. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Algona, Iowa. Mass will be livestreamed at www.OLIH.org Click on mass-livestream, funerals.

Mrs. Pickett was born in Bancroft, Iowa, and moved to Ankeny in 1962 from Algona. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and a volunteer for several activities for her church. Her hobbies were traveling and golf. Prior to retirement she worked at Municipal Supply for 13 years.

She is survived by daughter, Judy (Dennis) Dusek of Wichita, Kansas; three sons, James of Lakewood, Washington, Jeffery (Cindy) of Crescent, Iowa, and Jerold (Teresa) of Glenpool, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; sisters, Luella Hemmingson and Arlene Logue; granddaughter, Denise Karst; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Pickett.
