Bessie was born in Scotsdale, AR to Thomas Harvey Lancaster and Mollie Swain Lancaster. She lived in the McAlester and Ashland area all her life. She married Emmitt C. Henry in Pleasant Grove, AR in 1925. He preceded her in death in 1979. She was a retired presser for Elsings Cloth Manufacturing and a member of the Ashland Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Richard Henry, McAlester; three brothers, Bob Lancaster, Citrus Heights, CA, Harley Henry, Tulare, CA, Bob Henry, Los Angeles, CA; four sisters, June Loar, McAlester, Erma Dando, Port Richie, FL, Phyllis Tallman, Tulsa, OK, and Joy Fitzgerald, Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, Vicki Yowell, Marsha Henry, Richard D. Henry and Lauren Hayes; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Eugene Henry; and two brothers, Fred Lancaster and I. D. Henry.
